Contractors For Public Transit Construction Projects

Background

The Collier County Board of County Commissioners is seeking to establish a pool of qualified contractors to provide general public transit-related construction and construction-related services. The goal is to enhance public transit infrastructure, including various construction activities funded primarily through Federal Transit Administration funds, FEMA, and local state dollars.

Work Details

The scope of work includes but is not limited to: general construction activities related to the Public Transit and Neighborhood Enhancement Division; construction of bus shelters, structures, enclosures; improvements for buildings; ramps; roadway and walkway construction; parking areas; landscaping; utility and drainage work; illumination; electrical work; plumbing; HVAC installation; fire suppression systems; carpentry; roofing; signage installation. Contractors will be responsible for providing complete construction services, including material, labor, equipment, tools, and any necessary subcontractor services. They must also handle permitting and project coordination.

Period of Performance

The contract term is intended to be four (4) years with one (1) two-year renewal option. Prices shall remain firm for the initial term of the awarded agreement.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed in Collier County, Florida.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must be licensed and insured as a Certified Building Contractor or General Contractor in the State of Florida. Payment and Performance Bonds are required for projects over $200,000. The contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws including Buy America requirements. They must also submit a completed Buy America Certification Form with their proposal.
