Background

The City of Coral Gables is seeking bids from experienced and qualified contractors to provide renovation services to Rotary Park, located at 512 Ponce de Leon Boulevard. The goal of this project is to modernize the park’s layout and infrastructure while enhancing recreational amenities to better serve the community. The contractor must comply with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) policies, procedures, and directives, as well as applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Work Details

The scope of work includes:

1) North Side

Demolition and removal of outdated playground equipment, surface materials, concrete slab, perimeter fencing, and other obsolete infrastructure. Installation of new utility systems, grading, enhanced drainage solutions, updated landscaping with integrated lighting, concrete walking paths, site furnishings, and equipment. The new playground will feature synthetic turf, a shade sail, a mister, and a water fountain.

2) South Side

Improvement of the existing open lawn with seating areas incorporating flexi-pave surfaces, benches, picnic tables, and oolite boulders for community activities. Existing infrastructure such as sidewalks and mature trees will be preserved. The current irrigation system will be adjusted according to the new landscape design layout.

Period of Performance

The work is expected to be substantially completed within 240 calendar days from the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed and final completion within 30 calendar days thereafter.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at Rotary Park located at 512 Ponce de Leon Boulevard in Coral Gables, Florida.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate that they have been engaged in providing construction services similar in scope for a minimum of three years. They must provide at least three references for similar projects completed in the last five years using the City’s Reference Form. Bidders must hold an active license as a certified General Contractor from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
