Background

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking a pre-qualified firm to provide Demolition and Removal of Improvements, Structures, or Other Encumbrances in the Right of Way or Easement Areas. This solicitation aims to ensure that qualified contractors can effectively manage and execute demolition projects that align with GDOT's mission to maintain and improve public roadways.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the complete demolition of structures identified in the Asbestos Inspection Reports, including: 1. A concrete block/wood frame commercial structure over a concrete slab with a covered porch; 2. An 8 FT x 4 FT wood business sign supported by wood posts; 3. Approximately 300 SF of exterior concrete walks and slabs; 4. Approximately 4,350 SF of asphalt paving; and 5. A septic system within construction limits. The work includes abatement of asbestos-containing materials as identified, proper disposal of all demolition debris in accordance with Georgia regulations, and compliance with Technical Specifications provided by GDOT.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed and must be completed within forty-five (45) days unless modified by GDOT through a written change order.

Place of Performance

Catoosa County, Georgia, specifically at the addresses: 1163 Cloud Springs Road and 1231 Cloud Springs Road, Rossville, GA.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must hold prequalification status for Right of Way Property Management Services issued by GDOT. They must be prequalified in either Asbestos Abatement (Service Class E-2) or Demolition (Service Class E-3). Additionally, bidders are required to maintain a drug-free workplace and provide necessary insurance coverage as specified in the solicitation.
