Background

The Virginia Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking multiple providers to deliver Physical Therapy Assistant Services on an as-needed basis across various DOC facilities. The goal of this contract is to provide essential physical therapy care and services specifically for male inmates, aligning with the agency's mission to ensure health and rehabilitation within correctional facilities.

Work Details

The selected providers will be responsible for the following services: 1. Provide Physical Therapy Services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist at DOC facilities, up to 40 hours per week. 2. Deliver modalities, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and utilize orthopedic/adaptive equipment as per the established Plan of Care. 3. Conduct one-on-one physical therapy sessions lasting 45 minutes each. 4. Complete daily notes within 24 hours of patient appointments and document treatment objectives in detail. 5. Collect data on patient referral rates, visit counts, and missed visits as directed by the department. 6. Communicate effectively with medical colleagues involved in patient care to ensure continuity of care. 7. Notify the Department immediately if any professional credentials are compromised or if there are any issues affecting performance.

Period of Performance

The initial term of the contract will be for one year, with options for renewal for up to four additional one-year periods.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various Virginia Department of Corrections facilities as specified in Attachment 9 of the solicitation.

Bidder Requirements

Offerors must submit a Small Business Subcontracting Plan if applicable and provide evidence of compliance with DSBSD certification requirements for small businesses, women-owned businesses, or minority-owned businesses by the proposal due date.
