Portable Traffic Signal System

Background

The New Hampshire Department of Administrative Services, through its Division of Procurement and Support Services, is issuing a Request for Bid (RFB) for a Portable Traffic Signal System. The goal of this contract is to establish a purchase order for the supply of specified traffic signal equipment to enhance traffic management capabilities in the state.

Work Details

The contract involves the delivery of a Portable Traffic Signal System (PTSS) which includes: 1. A transport trailer capable of transporting the PTSS including four carts and specified component options, meeting minimum specifications such as:

Interior Height

85” - Axles: Two 3,500 lb. capacity axles or equal. - Electric brakes and breakaway kit. - Frame constructed of 4" tube with cross members on 24" centers. - Rear ramp type door measuring 65"W x 77"H and a single side entrance door measuring 30”. - Minimum 3/4" treated plywood flooring and minimum 1/4" plywood interior walls. - Aluminum exterior walls with .030 gauge minimum. - Roof constructed with aluminum roof bows covered with a one-piece .032" aluminum. - Equipped with eight cart lockdowns to secure four carts. 2. Four Portable Pedestal Traffic Signal System (PPTSS) carts per traffic phase, each equipped with: - Solid rubber tires and retractable handles for deployment. - Batteries sufficient for five days of continuous operation at temperatures above 50º F without supplemental charging. - One signal head containing three 12-inch diameter LED lamps (red, amber, green). - A controller unit capable of operating in fixed time, traffic actuated, or manual control mode with programmable timing features.

Period of Performance

Delivery of items is required within 30 days after receipt of Purchase Order.

Delivery is to be made to NH Dept. of Transportation, District 6, Attn: Nathan Young, 33 Smokey Bear Blvd., Concord, NH 03301.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must be duly registered as a vendor authorized to conduct business in New Hampshire. They are required to have a completed Vendor Application Package on file prior to bid award. Additionally, vendors must comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding public works projects.
