Ivy Solid Waste & Recycling Center Sediment Basin Rehabilitation

Background

The Rivanna Solid Waste Authority (RSWA) is seeking bids for the rehabilitation of the existing sediment basin located on the north side of the Ivy Solid Waste and Recycling Center (ISWRC) property. The goal of this contract is to ensure proper maintenance and functionality of the sediment basin, which is critical for environmental management and waste processing.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for completing rehabilitation tasks as outlined in the Bid Documents. This includes but is not limited to: clearing, grubbing, and stripping; erosion and sediment control; earthwork; aggregates; trenching, backfilling, and compacting; seeding; and installation of storm drainage structures. Specific technical specifications are detailed in sections 02110 through 15100 of the contract documents.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The contractor must achieve substantial completion within 60 consecutive calendar days from this date, with final completion required within an additional 30 consecutive calendar days.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the Ivy Solid Waste and Recycling Center (ISWRC), located at 695 Moores Creek Lane, Charlottesville, VA 22902.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be licensed in Virginia as either a Class A or Class B Contractor based on the total value of their bid. Additionally, bidders must provide a bid bond equal to 5% of their total bid amount if it exceeds $500,000. All bidders must comply with local business regulations and provide proof of authorization to transact business in Virginia.
