Intensive Community Residential Treatment Services

Background

The Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute (NVMHI) is a state-funded psychiatric hospital accredited by The Joint Commission, located at 3302 Gallows Road, Falls Church, VA. NVMHI serves adults aged 18-64 with serious mental illness and has a maximum capacity of 134 beds. It is one of ten state hospitals operated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services (DBHDS). NVMHI emphasizes self-determination, empowerment, recovery, resilience, health, and consumer participation in community life.

Work Details

The selected vendor will provide Intensive Community Residential Treatment (ICRT) services in a 24/7 supervised group home setting for adults with serious and persistent mental illness, including those adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI). Services include: - Continuous 24/7 supervision in a structured therapeutic environment. - Psychiatric and clinical services including medication management. - Rehabilitation supports such as activities of daily living and social skills development. - Capacity to manage forensic populations. - Collaboration with hospital treatment teams. - Accepting individuals on therapeutic passes prior to discharge. - Participating in multidisciplinary treatment planning. - Facilitating safe transitions to community placement. - Offering dedicated or priority bed availability for conditional release placements. - Monitoring risk and ensuring compliance with court-ordered conditions. Vendors must be licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.

Period of Performance

One year with four additional optional years.

Place of Performance

Services must be delivered in Fairfax County, Arlington County, City of Alexandria, Loudoun County, or Prince William County.
