Background The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) was established in 1930 to provide humane care for Federal Inmates and ensure consistent administration. The BOP is responsible for the custody and care of approximately 153,104 Federal Inmates across a nationwide system of prisons. This solicitation seeks to establish a contract for Comprehensive Medical Services at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Pollock in Pollock, Louisiana, which includes USP Pollock, FCI Pollock, and FPC Pollock facilities. The goal is to provide necessary professional and facility services for both inpatient admissions and outpatient encounters, ensuring cost-effective healthcare consistent with community standards. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical services including: 1. Inpatient and outpatient facility services conforming to community standards and applicable laws. 2. Professional medical services including telehealth options in various specialties such as cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, etc. 3. Submission of properly-priced invoices for services rendered. 4. Management of medical record information to promote continuity of care while observing restrictions on information release. 5. Maintenance of communication between the contract provider and the institution regarding contract services. Specific requirements include: - Providing facility services on an as-needed basis adhering to quality standards. - Ensuring all providers are not listed in the List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). - Telehealth services must be provided during specified hours with timely documentation. - Appointments for specialty care should be available within 14 calendar days from referral. - Compliance with BOP formulary for prescriptions. Period of Performance The contract will commence upon award and will cover a base year followed by four option years, each lasting 12 months.
