The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive aircraft maintenance and repair services for two Caltrans aircraft. This contract aims to ensure that the aircraft are maintained in compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and directives from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The goal is to maintain operational readiness and safety of the aircraft, which includes routine inspections, annual maintenance, and on-call repair services.
The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary tools, materials, supplies, labor, equipment, personnel, travel, and incidentals required for: 1) Routine and annual aircraft maintenance and inspection; 2) Non-routine (on-call) repair services for two Caltrans aircraft: Cirrus SR22 and Beechcraft F33A. Services must adhere to the Cirrus Airplane Maintenance Manual and Hawker Beechcraft Inspection Guide. The contractor must be a certified FAA Repair Station under 14 CFR Part 145. Maintenance services will primarily be performed at Sacramento Executive Airport (KSAC), with provisions for non-routine services at alternate locations as needed. The contractor must also handle any necessary parts procurement and ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
The contract is expected to commence on October 1, 2026, or upon approval by the Department of General Services (DGS), whichever is later. The contract will expire on September 30, 2029.
All maintenance services will be performed at Sacramento Executive Airport (KSAC), located at 6151 Freeport Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95822. Non-routine services may occur at alternate airports as necessary.
Bidders must be certified FAA Repair Stations and provide proof of certification with their bid. They must have the capability to perform maintenance at KSAC or obtain a permit if located elsewhere.
