Background The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Network Contracting Office 21, is issuing this solicitation for ice machine cleaning and sanitizing services. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the ice machines at the Veterans Affairs Central California Health Care System are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and health standards. This service is crucial for maintaining the health and safety of patients and staff within the facility. Work Details The contractor shall provide all necessary tools, chemicals, expertise, equipment, cleaning supplies, labor, and transportation required to perform quarterly cleaning and sanitizing of 17 ice machines. The cleaning process will follow the manufacturers' six-month and monthly cleaning procedures. Key tasks include: - Performing thorough cleaning and sanitization every 90 calendar days with a maximum interval of 100 days between cleanings. - Using only NSF-approved chemicals for cleaning. - Cleaning supply lines between filters and machines. - Replacing chutes, trays, and similar items as needed at government expense. - Reporting any negative findings during cleaning immediately to the designated representative. - Ensuring that all work is performed without interfering with the operation of surrounding areas. - Providing a legible service report upon completion of each cleaning that includes details about the condition of each machine before and after service. Period of Performance The contract period will commence on July 1, 2026, and conclude on June 30, 2027.
