Background

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is issuing a Request for Bid (RFB-245-26) for a Master Agreement for the construction of Pre-Engineered, Membrane Covered, Clear Span, Steel Frame Buildings (PMCS) statewide. The PMCS will be utilized primarily for the storage of bulk roadway deicing salt and must meet specific design and construction standards to ensure durability during snow and ice events.

Work Details

The contractor will provide all labor, materials, supplies, and services necessary to manufacture, supply, and erect the PMCS on prepared concrete walls. The buildings must match specified dimensions and designs including various sizes such as 60' wide x 40' long, 60' wide x 60' long, and larger structures like 120' diameter domes. The work includes the installation of trusses, membrane covers, end walls, and all incidentals required for completion. All materials must be new and meet specified grades. The contractor is responsible for temporary salt storage if the PMCS fails and must ensure site cleanliness at the end of each workday.

Period of Performance

The contract period is set for twelve (12) months from the date of award with options to renew for four additional one-year periods upon mutual agreement.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at various locations statewide in Kentucky as designated by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
