Background The Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking contractors for tree and brush removal services in District 10. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe and effective removal of designated trees and limbs, enhancing public safety and maintaining the integrity of the environment. The work will be overseen by the Chief District Engineer or their representative. Work Details Contractors will perform limb removal on standing trees marked for removal, adhering to Class II Pruning Standards from the National Arborist Association. Limb removal must not involve flush cuts; cuts should be made just outside the branch collar. All limbs and debris must be removed from the site and disposed of off KYTC rights-of-ways. Additionally, tree removal services are required for trees of various diameters (0-4 inches, 5-12 inches, 13-20 inches, 21-30 inches, 31-40 inches, 41-60 inches, and 61 inches or above). Specific instructions include cutting to within three inches of ground level and performing stump treatments with herbicide within one hour of cutting. Stump grinding services are also required for stumps with a diameter of 20 inches or less, grinding to a depth of twelve inches below ground level. Period of Performance The contract period is set to begin on May 1, 2026, with a closing date for submissions also on May 1, 2026. Place of Performance The work will be performed in District 10 within Kentucky's rights-of-way as designated by the Chief District Engineer.
