Background The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking bids for a Heavy-duty commercial automated Edge Bander Machine on behalf of the Bureau of Correctional Enterprises (BCE). Work Details The contract includes the delivery, installation, training, service, parts, maintenance, and an extended warranty for the Edge Bander Machine. The machine must handle various substrates including particle board, melamine, wood, and PVC edging with specific capacities such as panel thickness from 5/8" to 2-3/8", edge banding thickness from 0.018 mm to 3.0 mm, and run speeds between 40 to 60 feet per minute. It should feature a digital programmable controller with touch screen capabilities for easy operation and storage of multiple configurations. The machine must also include a pre-milling unit for zero-defect edge preparation, automatic feed of edge banding, high-pressure settings for thick panels, and safety compliance features such as emergency stops and sound dampening enclosures. Additionally, the contractor must provide on-site training for DOC staff on machine operation and maintenance. Period of Performance The contract is for a one-time purchase with installation expected within four months after receipt of the State Purchase Order.
