Background

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) #09A1119 for Routine and Non-Routine Generator Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair Services in Mono, Inyo, and Kern Counties. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of emergency generators used by Caltrans in these regions. Work Details

The contractor shall provide all labor, parts, tools, materials, equipment, machinery, travel, supplies, fees, and any incidentals necessary for routine and non-routine inspection, maintenance, and repair services to Caltrans emergency generators located in Inyo, Mono, and Kern Counties. Specific tasks include: 1. Conducting diagnostic testing and troubleshooting of generators. 2. Performing routine inspections as per manufacturer specifications. 3. Carrying out maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and other necessary repairs. 4. Responding to non-routine service requests within specified response times based on location. 5. Providing written reports detailing services performed and any deficiencies noted during inspections.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence on August 15, 2026 (estimate), or upon approval by Caltrans. The contract will expire on August 14, 2028 (estimate). Routine services will be provided during business hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations within Inyo, Mono, and Kern Counties including but not limited to Sonora Junction, Bridgeport, Conway, Lee Vining, Crestview, Minaret, McGee Creek, Bishop Maintenance Station, Sherwin Creek Sand Shed, Independence MS, Death Valley MS among others.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a valid registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) at the time of bid submission. Bidders must also hold a valid C-10 Electrical Contractor license issued by the Contractors State License Board (CSLB). Additionally, bidders are encouraged to participate in small business programs; however participation is not mandatory.
