Mobile Welding Services

Background

The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners is seeking competitive sealed bids from experienced and qualified contractors to provide mobile welding and fabrication services. The goal of this contract is to facilitate minor facility welding repairs for various types of equipment at the Solid Waste Management Department South County Facility locations. The estimated value of the project is $207,429.10, and the contract period will end on July 31, 2028.

Work Details

The contractor will provide mobile welding and fabrication services for: - minor facility welding repairs - roll-off containers - loaders - backhoes - excavators - stationary cranes - other equipment as needed. Services include: - furnishing all labor, tools, equipment, and materials required for on-site repairs; - obtaining necessary permits and inspections; - providing estimates within two business days of request; - responding to service calls within four hours during standard working hours; - performing emergency repairs within 24 hours of notification; - ensuring all work complies with applicable safety standards. The contractor's equipment must be capable of welding various thicknesses and grades of metals, including single pass welds on steel from 1/4-inch to 5/16-inch. Custom fabrication includes racks, brackets, pedestals, and modifications to existing structures.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed from the effective date until July 31, 2028.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at the following locations: - South County Transfer Station (13000 US 41 South, Gibsonton, FL 33534) - Southeast County Landfill (15960 County Road 672, Lithia, FL 33547) - Alderman Ford Community Collection Center (9402 CR 39, Lithia, FL 33569) - Wimauma CCC (16180 Westlake Dr., Wimauma, FL 33598).

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate recent experience in providing similar services and be certified by the American Welding Society (AWS) in Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Metal Inert Gas (MIG), and Arc welding methods. Insurance coverage is required as per ITB-26-00291 Insurance Requirements Attachment. A bid bond or performance bond is not required.
