Vehicle Towing & Storage Services for the City of Tallahassee

Background

The City of Tallahassee, Florida, is seeking a qualified Contractor to provide vehicle towing and storage services for all City-owned vehicles. This initiative aims to support the operations of the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) and the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) by ensuring efficient recovery and storage of vehicles that may be held as evidence or for forfeiture.

Work Details

The Contractor shall provide the following services: towing, transport, all forms of vehicle recovery, and storage services for City-owned vehicles. Charges for vehicles towed and held as evidence or for forfeiture will be based on rates provided in response to this bid. Specific requirements include: - Responses to requests for service - Impoundment procedures - Towing methods and storage facilities - Posting and providing charges - Special provisions as outlined in the contract specifications.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and will continue for a specified term as detailed in the contract documents, with potential extensions based on performance evaluations.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed within the geographic boundaries of the City of Tallahassee, Florida.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must maintain a permanent place of business with full-time employees within Leon, Wakulla, Gadsden, or Jefferson County, Florida, for at least six months prior to the bid due date. Additionally, bidders must comply with insurance requirements including:

Commercial General Liability Insurance

$1 million per occurrence

Business Automobile Liability Insurance

$1 million per accident - Workers’ Compensation Insurance as per Florida Statutes. Bidders are also required to submit a Certification of Drug-Free Workplace Form with their proposal.
