Construction of Athletic Floor System at AMBUCS Park

Background

Spalding County Government, a vibrant and progressive public entity, is seeking proposals for the construction of an indoor athletic floor system at AMBUCS Park Community Center located at 1110 High Falls Road, Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia. The goal of this renovation project is to enhance the functionality and longevity of the gymnasium/community center while maintaining its character and accessibility to serve community needs. The installation of a high-quality athletic flooring system is critical to this effort, aiming for durability, performance, and sustainability to support various recreational and athletic uses.

Work Details

The scope of work includes the construction of an athletic floor system within a 7,500 square foot fully air-conditioned facility that includes restrooms, an administration office, concession area, and storage. Specific requirements include: - Compliance with ASTM F2772 standards for indoor sports floor systems. - Consistent ball rebound comparable to hardwood floors. - Adequate impact attenuation for multi-sport use including basketball, pickleball, and volleyball. - Installation of sport court lines compliant with regulations. - Coordination of paint colors with Spalding County Parks and Leisure Services Department. - Preparation and leveling of the floor for installation. Project materials include: A. Athletic Floor System: Provide and install ElastiPlus 7+2 pad and pour athletic floor system according to manufacturer specifications. B. Wall Base and Transitions: Install black cove base along gymnasium walls and transitions at doorways. C. Game Line Striping: One basketball court, one volleyball court, two pickleball courts with durable coatings meeting regulation standards. D. Add Alternate: Pricing for tile removal including demolition, haul-off, and disposal.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed within 90 days after the issuance of the purchase order.

The work will be performed at AMBUCS Park Community Center located at 1110 High Falls Road, Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia 30223.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide proof of compliance with E-Verify standards and insurance coverage including general liability insurance ($1 million minimum), workers’ compensation insurance ($1 million minimum), and vehicle liability insurance ($1 million minimum). Bidders must also demonstrate experience in constructing gymnasium floors or government facilities with references from similar projects.
