Background

The NRV Regional Water Authority is seeking bids for the removal, dewatering, and disposal of settled solids from two upper basins at their water treatment plant. This project aims to maintain compliance with environmental regulations and ensure the effective operation of the facility. The last cleaning of these basins occurred in 2014, making this work essential for ongoing treatment operations.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for: 1. Mobilization and demobilization of equipment and personnel. 2. Removal of settled solids from the upper basins, including dewatering and placement into containers or trucks provided by the contractor. 3. Disposal of dewatered solids at an approved landfill, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements including testing for Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) and paint filter tests. 4. Restoration of the site post-operation to maintain cleanliness and orderliness. 5. Coordination with NRV Regional Water Authority staff for electrical connections and access to potable water as needed.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within a specified timeframe determined by the contractor's proposed schedule.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate qualifications under Section 54.1-1112 of The Code of Virginia, including providing evidence of a Certificate of Registration before their bid can be considered. Additionally, bidders must provide a certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of their total bid price, proof of insurance coverage, and a list of subcontractors if applicable.
