Ice Merchandiser and Bagged Ice Services

Background

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is issuing this solicitation to procure ice merchandisers (freezers) and bagged ice delivery services for various locations within the Saluda Residency, which includes Essex, Gloucester, King & Queen, King William, Mathews, and Middlesex counties. The goal of this contract is to ensure that VDOT has reliable access to ice storage and supply for its operational needs.

Work Details

The contractor will provide the following services and products: 1. Ice merchandisers equipped with stainless steel doors to maintain bagged ice at each location. 2. Delivery of ice merchandisers within five (5) business days from the contract award date, coordinated with VDOT staff for installation. 3. Delivery of bagged ice within three (3) business days upon request from VDOT. 4. Locations for service include Gloucester AHQ, Mathews AHQ, Middlesex AHQ, Rumford AHQ, Shacklefords AHQ, St. Stephens AHQ, and Tappahannock AHQ. 5. The contractor must ensure that all equipment remains in good working condition and provide delivery receipts identifying the quantity of bagged ice delivered.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence from the date of award and will last for one (1) year with the possibility of renewal.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations within the Saluda Residency in Virginia including specific addresses for each AHQ listed in the solicitation.

Bidder Requirements

This solicitation is set-aside for DSBSD-certified micro businesses or small businesses. Bidders must be certified as such by DSBSD on the due date for receipt of bids to qualify for award priority.
