Background

The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), specifically the Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH), is seeking applications from eligible entities to advance recovery-focused initiatives across the state. The goal of this contract is to promote public education and awareness surrounding recovery from substance use disorders, enhance understanding and utilization of peer-based and other recovery support services, and strengthen advocacy for individuals in recovery. Additionally, funding will support the delivery of peer recovery support training aligned with Florida’s certification standards, as well as the development and implementation of tools, strategies, or initiatives to provide sustained support and technical assistance to current, emerging, and newly established Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs).

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for advancing recovery-focused initiatives which include: - Promoting public education about recovery from substance use disorders; - Increasing understanding and utilization of peer-based recovery support services; - Strengthening advocacy efforts for individuals in recovery; - Delivering peer recovery support training that meets Florida’s certification standards; - Developing tools, strategies, or initiatives aimed at providing ongoing support and technical assistance to Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs).

Period of Performance

The contract performance period is expected to begin following the grant award on June 19, 2026.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed statewide across Florida.
