Automotive Motor Oils, Lubricants, Greases and Related Items

Background

The Board of Education of Montgomery County, Maryland, is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) #9460.2 for Automotive Motor Oils, Lubricants, Greases, and Related Items. The purpose of this contract is to provide a percentage-off discount on the cost of these materials necessary for the automotive shop equipment used by the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Department of Transportation. The equipment is housed at six locations within Montgomery County, Maryland.

Work Details

The successful bidder will provide Automotive Motor Oils, Lubricants, Greases, and related items as specified in the bid documents. Bidders are required to submit two copies of their price lists that will apply to the percentage-off discount offered. All items must be new and free from defects. Delivery is required within five days after receipt of a purchase order issued by MCPS. The contract may be awarded based on the lowest net cost determined by the percentage-off discount from submitted manufacturer’s price lists or dealer’s price sheets.

Period of Performance

The term of the contract will be from July 25, 2026, through July 24, 2027. MCPS reserves the right to extend this contract for up to four additional one-year terms.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at various locations within Montgomery County, Maryland, specifically at six transportation depot locations:

West Farm Transportation

- Turkey Thicket Depot B2.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide three references from current customers for similar contracts. Successful bidders must maintain comprehensive business insurance and comply with all applicable federal and state safety standards. Bidders must ensure that no materials provided contain asbestos and must secure laboratory analysis confirming this. Additionally, bidders' facilities must be located within 100 miles of Montgomery County.
