Pensacola Avenue Reconstruction

Background

The City of Waxahachie, Texas is issuing a contract for the reconstruction of Pensacola Avenue and Chiles Street. The project aims to enhance infrastructure by replacing existing asphalt roadways with concrete, improving water and sewer lines, and ensuring compliance with ADA standards for sidewalks. Work Details

The project involves the reconstruction of approximately 1,900 linear feet of Pensacola Avenue from Richmond Lane to the cul-de-sac, and about 400 linear feet of Chiles Street from Monticello Drive to Charlotte Avenue. Key tasks include: 1) Demolition of existing roadways; 2) Installation of approximately 2,300 LF of 8” water line; 3) Installation of approximately 1,000 LF of 8” sanitary sewer line; 4) Reconstruction of the roadway using 6” reinforced concrete with a flexible base subgrade; 5) Installation of ADA compliant sidewalks with curb ramps; 6) Driveway repairs; 7) Installation of streetlight foundations and secondary connection boxes; 8) Traffic control measures as per Texas Department of Transportation standards; 9) Erosion control measures in compliance with TCEQ requirements.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to be completed within 214 working days, commencing on the tenth day after the issuance of the notice to proceed.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed in Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas, specifically along Pensacola Avenue and Chiles Street.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a bid proposal along with bid security (cashier’s or certified check or bid bond), vendor compliance forms, a conflict of interest questionnaire, and a certificate of insurance.
