Background

The City of Tempe is seeking a contractor to provide power washing services for sidewalks along Mill Avenue, specifically between University Drive and Rio Salado Parkway. The goal of this contract is to maintain cleanliness and safety in public spaces, including sidewalks, parks, buildings, infrastructure, and pathways. This initiative aligns with the city's commitment to providing a clean and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Work Details

The Contractor shall steam clean and power wash all sidewalks along the East and West sides of Mill Avenue between University Drive and Rio Salado Parkway. Additionally, the Contractor will clean other City locations as directed, including parks, buildings, infrastructure, and pathways. The work includes ensuring all areas are free of debris, dirt, grime, and spills. Debris must be sprayed into the street before 5:00 a.m. local Arizona time for removal by a street sweeper. The Contractor is required to submit before and after pictures upon completion of each service. Work is scheduled every Saturday and Sunday as well as on 11 City holidays: - New Year’s Day - Martin Luther King’s Birthday - President’s Day

Thanksgiving Day

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and continue for a period of one year with an option for unilateral extension for an additional ninety days or up to four additional years through mutual written modification.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed along Mill Avenue in Tempe, Arizona.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with all applicable laws regarding employment practices and working conditions in Arizona. They must also submit a Heat Safety Plan that addresses elements outlined in the City’s Heat Safety Ordinance No. O2025.19 if their work involves outdoor environments for substantial periods. Additionally, contractors must maintain all necessary licenses to perform the work required under this contract.
