Service Canine Candidates

Background

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking to enhance public safety through effective correctional practices. This solicitation aims to procure Service Canine Candidates to support their mission.

Work Details

The contractor shall provide fixed pricing for various breeds of untrained and trained service canines that pass the ADCRR Raw Talent Selection Test. The breeds include: 1. Untrained Retriever Breeds:

Labrador Retriever

- Vizlas

German Short-Hair Pointers

2. Untrained Herding Breeds: - Malinois

Dutch Shepherds

3. Trained Bloodhound Breeds. 4. Untrained Bloodhound Breeds. Pricing must be inclusive of shipping and transportation costs if the canines are purchased by ADCRR. Additionally, each canine must come with a current international health certificate confirming they are free from HIP and Elbow Dysplasia, along with documentation verifying they are cancer-free with good to excellent hips and spine. If a canine is rejected for health reasons, it must be returned at no cost to ADCRR, and a replacement must be provided at no charge within 18 months for congenital defects (excluding hips, elbows, or spine). Canines must be shipped to Phoenix, Arizona if the contractor's location is over 1,300 miles away.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon acceptance and will continue for twelve (12) months, with the possibility of extensions up to five (5) years.

Place of Performance

Services will primarily be performed in Phoenix, Arizona, where the canines will be delivered.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must maintain all necessary permits and licenses associated with the services provided. There are no specific set-aside certifications mentioned in the solicitation.
