Background

The City of Yuma is seeking bids for the procurement of fire hydrants and accessories to support its water infrastructure. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the city has reliable and high-quality fire hydrants that meet established safety and performance standards, thereby enhancing public safety and emergency response capabilities.

Work Details

The contract includes the following specifications for fire hydrants and accessories: 1. Fire Hydrants: - Must meet or exceed AWWA Standard C-502 Requirements. - Minimum main valve opening of 5¼ inches in diameter. - Equipped with two 2½ inch hose connections and one 4½ inch hose connection using NST. - Operating nut must be a pentagon shape, 1½ inches point to flat, opening counter-clockwise. - Base must have a mechanical joint-type connection for C-900 water main. - Hydrant height options: 30 inches, 36 inches, 42 inches, or 48 inches from ground line to bottom of trench. - Yellow coat/finish on the outside top section; other coatings as per AWWA standards. - Designed for 250 psi working pressure and tested to 500 psi hydrostatic pressure with a three-year warranty. - Acceptable brands include Clow Medallion, Waterous WB-67 Pacer, Mueller Super Centurion, American AVK Series 2700, East Jordan Iron Works Watermaster or equivalent. 2. Fire Hydrant Extension Kits: - Must be compatible with quoted hydrant brands. - Available in lengths of 6”, 12”, 18”, 24”, and 30”. - Price must include complete kits (nuts, bolts, gaskets). 3. Repair Kits: - Traffic kits required for replacing parts damaged by collision or fatigue must be compatible with quoted hydrant brands (e.g., Waterous K-528 kit for Waterous WB-67 Hydrants).

Period of Performance

The contract will remain valid for a period of one year from the date of issuance of the purchase order or Notice of Award.

Place of Performance

The products will be delivered to various locations within the City of Yuma as specified in individual purchase orders.
