Fire Alarm Panel Replacement Services

Background

The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 25CS0065 for Fire Alarm Panel Replacement Services. The purpose of this contract is to replace aging fire alarm control panels and associated components at the Veterans Home in Chula Vista, California. While there is no Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) subcontractor goal required, participation is encouraged, and incentives apply.

Work Details

The contractor will provide all labor, materials, staff, transportation, licenses, permits, and other necessary items to perform the Fire Alarm Panel Replacement Services at the Veterans Home located at 700 East Naples Court, Chula Vista, CA 91911. Specific tasks include: 1. Replacing existing fire alarm control panels with new Simplex equipment: - 1 Simplex 4100ES as a replacement for the existing Simplex 4120. - 5 Simplex 4007ES Hybrid fire control panels as replacements for existing 4020 panels. - 2 NAC Extenders as replacements for existing annunciator panels. 2. Installation of new pull stations and monitor & relay modules across all buildings. 3. Ensuring all equipment meets code requirements and is compatible with existing systems. 4. Providing training for CalVet personnel on the operation of the installed system. 5. Conducting a final inspection with local fire authorities and providing warranty documentation.

Period of Performance

The contract term begins on June 1, 2026 or upon approval and ends on June 30, 2027.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at the Veterans Home located at 700 East Naples Court, Chula Vista, CA 91911.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a valid California Contractor’s License Classification C-16 and be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). All personnel performing services must have manufacturer certification or equivalent experience. Bidders are encouraged to participate in DVBE programs but are not required to meet specific goals.
