Janitorial Services for Kentucky Board of Cosmetology

Background

The Commonwealth of Kentucky is issuing this solicitation for janitorial services to support the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology, which regulates the cosmetology industry in the state. The goal of this contract is to ensure a clean and sanitary environment for the Board's operations, located at 1025 Capital Center Drive, Suite 200, Frankfort, KY.

Work Details

The contractor will provide janitorial services for approximately 3,960 square feet at the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology. Services include:

Janitorial Services

To be performed three times per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) during business hours (8:00 AM - 3:30 PM).

Carpet Cleaning

Scheduled twice a year with spot cleaning upon request. - Floor Stripping & Waxing: Scheduled twice a year.

Window Cleaning

Inside and outside cleaning twice a year, with weekly cleaning for high-traffic areas. Specific duties include: 1. Common Areas (twice weekly): Empty waste baskets, collect trash, vacuum carpets, sweep and damp mop floors, clean restrooms. 2. Offices (at least once weekly): Dust surfaces, vacuum carpets, clean glass doors. 3. Restroom Cleaning: Sanitize toilets and sinks; refill dispensers. 4. Carpet Maintenance: Use extraction method for cleaning; furniture must be moved as needed. 5. Floor Maintenance: Maintain shine on non-carpeted floors; use three coats of wax when stripping and waxing. 6. General Requirements: Provide all necessary cleaning supplies and equipment; maintain a cleaning schedule posted in the vendor's closet.

Period of Performance

The initial contract period will be one year from the date of award with options to renew for up to four additional one-year periods.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be registered in the Commonwealth eProcurement System. They must submit Revenue Form 10A100 (Kentucky Tax Registration Application) and a Certificate of Authority if they are a foreign entity. Vendors are required to perform yearly criminal background checks on employees working under this contract.
