Directional Boring & Hand Trenching

Background

The Pinellas County School District is seeking bids for directional boring and hand trenching services. The goal of this contract is to select an Underground Utility and Excavation Contractor to perform necessary installations for electrical, plumbing, and irrigation systems at various locations throughout the county. The awarded contractor will be required to respond to emergency requests within 24 hours and complete non-emergency work orders within a specified timeframe.

Work Details

The contractor will provide all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary for directional boring technology and hand trenching services. Specific requirements include: - Emergency boring response within 24 hours with completion in 3 days. - Non-emergency quotes submitted within 3 days with project completion between 7 to 10 days. - Hand trenching will be required if directional boring cannot be performed due to unlocated subsurface utilities. - The contractor must have a current Florida license as a Registered or Certified Underground Utility Contractor. - Compliance with State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF) is mandatory. - All work must adhere to safety regulations set by state and federal laws.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence on July 29, 2026, and end on July 28, 2027, with options for renewal.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations throughout Pinellas County as needed.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be licensed as underground utility contractors in Florida and maintain a business location within a 75-mile radius of the district's central administration. They must comply with safety regulations and provide proof of insurance as specified in the bid documents.
