Background The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is issuing this solicitation for the replacement of a security fence at the McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in Sabine Pass, Texas. The purpose of this contract is to enhance security for facilities, equipment, and materials by replacing a deteriorating fence that has become vulnerable to theft and vandalism. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the removal of the existing security fence and installation of approximately 921 feet of new 7-foot tall galvanized chain link fence. The specifications include: - Use of 9 gauge mesh for the fence material. - Installation of 3-inch schedule 40 corner, gate, and terminal posts set in concrete. - Use of 1 5/8-inch schedule 40 line posts and top rail. - Installation of three strands of barbed wire above the top rail. - All necessary hardware must be provided. - The spacing between fence posts shall not exceed 10 feet. Period of Performance The contract performance period is from June 22, 2026, to August 14, 2026, with a total duration of 53 calendar days.
