The Albany Convention Center Authority (ACCA), a public benefit corporation established by New York State legislation in 2004, is seeking proposals from qualified marketing firms to assist in developing and implementing a strategic communications and marketing plan. The ACCA aims to enhance its image and promote the Albany Capital Center, which has significantly contributed to the local economy by attracting business and leisure travelers. The authority is currently overseeing a $55 million expansion project to further enhance its offerings.
The selected contractor will provide comprehensive marketing services including: 1. Public Relations Services: Develop and execute public relations strategies, manage media relations, create press releases, pitch stories to media outlets, assist with social media content development, and organize special events. 2. Public Affairs Services: Strengthen community engagement, identify speaking opportunities for ACCA leadership, and support community relations efforts. 3. Marketing Services: Conduct market research, develop tailored marketing strategies for national business events focused on meetings and conventions in Albany, establish key performance indicators (KPIs), execute media buying activities, and monitor campaign effectiveness. 4. Budget Development: Create and manage annual marketing budgets aligned with strategic goals while ensuring transparent tracking of expenditures. 5. Reporting and Collaboration: Provide regular performance updates to stakeholders and collaborate closely with ACCA staff.
The initial term of the agreement will commence upon issuance by the ACCA and will continue for three years, with options for renewal for up to three additional one-year terms.
Services will be performed primarily in Albany, New York.
Offerors must demonstrate experience in economic development or tourism sectors, provide examples of similar work completed in the past five years, submit detailed organizational information including team qualifications, and comply with MWBE contracting goals of 19.60% MBE and 17.44% WBE.
