Background The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District has a requirement for a construction contract for the Cedar Rapids Flood Risk Management Project, specifically for Reach 1, South Railyard Floodwall. This project aims to manage flood risks in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, ensuring the safety and integrity of the surrounding areas against potential flooding events. Work Details The scope of work includes various construction tasks such as: - demolition; - temporary traffic control; - clearing and grubbing; - installation of metal sheet piles and steel H-piles; - toe drain installation; - floodwall construction; - modifications to water mains; - storm sewer installation; - placement of riprap, bedding stone, and aggregate surfacing; - seeding and site restoration.
