Background

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio) is the academic health center of The University of Texas at San Antonio. It serves as a key driver in the healthcare and biosciences sector in San Antonio. The institution aims to enhance its service capacity and expand its workforce over the next five years. This Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks qualified electrical contractors to provide essential electrical services as outlined in the solicitation.

Work Details

Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, tools, and equipment necessary to perform various sizes and scopes of commercial electrical services on an 'as needed' basis. The scope includes installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, specifically 120/208 (3) phase and 277/480 (3) phase systems. The contractor must ensure compliance with all drawings and specifications provided by the University. They are responsible for field verifications and material take-offs prior to commencing work. All work must be coordinated with the University's designated representative, who will approve cost proposals and estimated completion times before issuing a Purchase Order. Invoices must be submitted upon completion of assigned work.

Period of Performance

The anticipated term of the agreement may extend up to two years from the date of execution, with options for two additional one-year renewals.

Services will be performed at various locations within the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio campus located at 7703 Floyd Curl Dr., San Antonio, Texas 78229.

Bidder Requirements

Proposers must have a minimum of five years experience in commercial electrical services, preferably within higher education or healthcare environments. They must provide competent TDLR licensed electricians for all work. Proposers are required to maintain insurance coverage throughout the contract duration and demonstrate financial capability to undertake multiple projects. Additionally, compliance with the VetHUB program is mandatory for subcontracting opportunities.
