IH20 at Seagoville Road & Beltline Road Green Ribbon Improvement

Background

The City of Balch Springs is issuing a request for sealed bids for the construction of the IH20 at Seagoville Road & Beltline Road Green Ribbon Improvement project. This initiative aims to enhance landscaping and drainage improvements within the TxDOT right-of-way at two locations: IH20 at Seagoville Road and IH20 at Beltline Road. The project is part of the Green Ribbon Program, which focuses on improving aesthetics and environmental conditions along highways.

Work Details

The contract requires the contractor to furnish all labor, tools, materials, and equipment necessary for the construction work. Specific tasks include: - Landscaping improvements - Drainage enhancements - Installation of irrigation systems - Tree protection (installation and removal) - Concrete removal (mow strip) - Compost topsoil application - Vegetative watering - Soil retention blanket installation - Wildflower seeding - Mulch application - Plant bed preparation - Concrete landscape edging installation - Various other miscellaneous construction items as defined in the plans and specifications. The work must comply with TxDOT Standard Specifications (2024 Edition) and follow the instructions provided by the OWNER. Construction sequencing and barricading will adhere to TxDOT’s Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

Period of Performance

The work is expected to be completed within 160 calendar days from the date specified in the work order. The contractor must commence work within ten calendar days after receiving a Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance

The project will be performed at two locations: IH20 at Seagoville Road and IH20 at Beltline Road in Balch Springs, Texas.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a bid bond or certified check equal to 5% of the total bid price. They are required to provide evidence of financial responsibility, experience with similar projects, adequate equipment for completion of the work, and proof of maintaining a permanent place of business. Additionally, bidders must comply with all federal, state, county, and local laws as stipulated in Local Government General Requirements.
