Background

The Department of Accounting and General Services, Central Services Division (DAGS/CSD) is seeking a contractor to provide Coconut and Other Palm Tree Trimming services at various State Facilities on the island of Oahu. The goal of this contract is to ensure the health and safety of palm trees by performing necessary trimming operations based on the availability of funds.

Work Details

The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, tools, materials, and transportation necessary for the trimming of coconut and other palm trees. The services include: 1. Trimming coconut and other palm trees three times during the contract period: - 1st trim between July and October - 2nd trim between November and February - 3rd trim between March and June 2. Adhering to standard arboricultural practices to maintain tree health and aesthetics. 3. Removal of excessive, dead, dry, dying fronds; flowers; and fruits at any stage of growth with clean cuts close to the trunk. 4. Disposal of all trimmings and debris on the same day as trimming at appropriate recycling facilities or disposal sites. 5. Compliance with ANSI A300 standards for pruning and ANSI Z133.1 safety requirements.

Period of Performance

The contract is anticipated to start on July 1, 2026, and end on June 30, 2027.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at various State Facilities located on the island of Oahu.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have a minimum of ten (10) consecutive years of experience in tree trimming services. They must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor C27 and/or C-27-B tree trimming license, have a Certified Arborist with at least five (5) years of experience certified by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), maintain a permanent office on Oahu, and ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws including wage certifications.
