The Tazewell County School Board is seeking qualified contractors to replace the roof at Graham Middle School. This initiative is part of their commitment to maintaining safe and functional educational facilities for students and staff.

Work Details

The scope of work includes: 1. Removal of existing EPDM membrane, wall flashing, and curb flashing materials, with proper cleanup and disposal of all debris. 2. Installation of 49,500 square feet of ½” Elevate Isogard HD roof insulation using 6” polymer roofing fasteners and 3” diameter insulation plates. 3. Installation of 56,000 square feet of 45 mil rubber roofing material using the fully adhered method, ensuring coverage over all perimeter walls, curbs, and roof penetrations for a watertight system. All detail work must comply with manufacturer specifications. 4. Fabrication and installation of 1,900 feet of new metal edging made from pre-finished 24-gauge steel in black color. 5. Ensuring all roof drains function properly by providing and installing necessary drain clips, bolts, or hardware for drain integrity. 6. The roofing membrane must be mechanically fastened at all perimeters and roof projections as required by the manufacturer, with aluminum termination strips provided as recommended. Flashing must be installed at all roof penetrations and intersections extending vertically a minimum of eight inches (8”). 7. Materials specified include either Carlisle Corporation 'Sure Seal' or Firestone Corporation 'Rubbergard' roofing materials meeting ASTM D3253 standards.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to be completed by May 26, 2026.
