The Tazewell County School Board is seeking bids for the replacement of the roof at Tazewell Primary School. The goal of this contract is to ensure a reliable and watertight roofing system for the school, aligning with the Board's commitment to maintaining safe and functional educational facilities.

Work Details

The scope of work includes: 1. Removal of ballast rock from the roof to prepare for a new roofing system. 2. Removal of existing EPDM membrane, wall flashing, and curb flashing materials. 3. Replacement of any wet insulation. 4. Cleaning up and disposing of all debris. 5. Furnishing and installing new wood blocking at the top of parapet walls. 6. Furnishing and installing new retrofit roof drains as needed. 7. Installation of 25,700 square feet of Elevate Rubbergard .060 EPDM rubber roofing material using the ballasted method, ensuring coverage over perimeter walls, curbs, and roof penetrations to provide a watertight system. 8. Fabrication and installation of new metal edging using 24-gauge steel (color to be decided). 9. Re-installation of ballast stone. The successful bidder must ensure all roof drains function properly and provide necessary hardware for drain integrity.

Period of Performance

The contract performance period is expected to be completed by May 26, 2026.

The work will be performed at Tazewell Primary School located at 175 Parkview Drive, Tazewell, VA 24651.
