Taylor Pool Rehabilitation & Expansion

Background

The Town of Payson, located in northern Gila County, Arizona, is seeking qualified aquatic facility contractors or design-build teams for the rehabilitation and potential expansion of the Taylor Pool and Bathhouse. This project aims to modernize the facility while honoring its historical significance, ensuring it meets current health, safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency standards. The renovation aligns with the Town's goals of enhancing community amenities and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Work Details

The scope of work includes: 1. Rehabilitation of the existing pool structure, mechanical systems, decks, and bathhouse to meet current codes. 2. Evaluation and pricing of expansion options that enhance community use. 3. Specific tasks include: a) Demolition and reconstruction of interior walls for compliant toilet stalls and showers; b) Installation of accessible features such as toilets and showers; c) Replacement of all plumbing and electrical systems; d) Full replacement of pool components including piping, pumps, filters, heaters, and safety features; e) Site improvements for accessibility including parking reconfiguration and installation of accessible routes; f) Additive alternates such as leisure-oriented pool features, spectator areas for events, and a covered structure to extend seasonal use.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed from May 8, 2026 (project release date) until substantial completion is achieved following the construction phase negotiations.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the Taylor Pool located at 303 N Beeline Highway, Payson, Arizona.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate experience with municipal aquatic facility rehabilitation projects. They must provide evidence of required licensing, insurance, and bonding capacity sufficient to perform the work described in this RFQ. All subcontractors must also meet applicable licensing and insurance requirements.
