Background

The Department of Land and Natural Resources, State of Hawaii, is issuing a solicitation for the Kokee State Park Electrical Improvements project. The mission of the Division of State Parks is to manage and protect the natural and cultural resources of Hawaii's state parks while providing recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. The goal of this contract is to enhance the electrical infrastructure at Kokee State Park, located in Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii.

Work Details

The scope of work includes: - Installing new electrical services and feeders to existing buildings - Electrical reconnection of existing loads - Demolition work for hauling and disposal as required to construct new improvements - Electrical work in place for Garage 1, Garage 2, Storage Building, Workshop, Ranger’s Cottage, and Park Headquarters - Installation of a project sign - Provision for a field office with an allowance of $10,000. The total estimated cost for construction is $300,000.

Period of Performance

The contract must be fully completed within 180 consecutive calendar days from the date of written notice to proceed.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at Kokee State Park located on Kokee Road (Hwy 550), Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii Contractor’s license classification 'C-13'. Additionally, bidders are required to comply with various state laws including obtaining a tax clearance certificate from the Hawaii State Department of Taxation (DOTAX), a certificate of compliance from the Department of Labor (DLIR), and a certificate of good standing from the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA). Bidders may also choose to use the Hawaii Compliance Express (HCE) for compliance verification.
