Annual Street Maintenance - Microsurfacing and Other Treatments

Background

The Town of Leesburg, Virginia, located 35 miles west of Washington, D.C., is a full-service municipal corporation providing various services including street maintenance. The Town is seeking qualified contractors to provide annual street maintenance services aimed at enhancing roadway conditions and ensuring public safety.

Work Details

The contractor will provide annual street maintenance services including: microsurfacing, slurry seals, cape seals, and crack sealing. The work includes obtaining right-of-way permits, conducting street sweeping, installing signage for public notifications and no parking areas, and maintaining traffic during operations. The contractor must adhere to the latest Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) regulations and standards. Work will be authorized through Task Orders issued by the Town, detailing the scope of work, estimated quantities, costs, and completion timelines. The contractor is responsible for preventing overspill outside treatment areas and ensuring that all materials meet VDOT specifications.

Period of Performance

The initial contract term is one year from the execution date with the possibility of up to four additional one-year renewals based on mutual agreement and funding appropriations from the Leesburg Town Council.

The work will be performed within the Town of Leesburg, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a valid Virginia Contractor’s License and provide their State Corporation Commission (SCC) Identification Number. They must also submit a bid security in the form of a bid bond or cashier's check amounting to 5% of their total bid price. Successful bidders are required to obtain a Business Professional and Occupation License (BPOL) prior to contract award.
