Background

The Commonwealth of Kentucky, through the Finance and Administration Cabinet, is issuing this solicitation for the procurement of a Gatormade Aardvark +3 Series 16K trailer. This contract aims to fulfill the needs of the Department of Agriculture by providing essential equipment that meets specific operational requirements.

Work Details

The contract requires the provision of one Gatormade Aardvark +3 Series 16K trailer or an approved equal. The specifications include: - Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR): Minimum 16,000 pounds. - Axles: Two (2) 8,000-pound rated axles with electric drum brakes and spring suspension. - Frame: Constructed with a 12-inch I beam neck, 6-inch x 2-inch tubing stacked on a 2-inch x 4-inch tube, and 16-inch cross members. - Tires: Fourteen-ply radial tires suitable for 8,000-pound axles; includes a full-size spare tire mounted in the neck of the trailer.

Trailer Length

An 18-foot main deck plus a 4-foot self-cleaning dovetail with 4-foot lay-flat loading ramps.

Coupler Type

Adjustable 2-5/16-inch ball coupler rated appropriately for the GVWR. - Lighting: Street legal LED lighting package including tail, brake, breakaway safety switch, marker lights, and additional deck/work/loading lights for nighttime operation. - Features include a low profile bumper hitch with a lockable steel toolbox in the tongue of the trailer, dual electric over hydraulic jacks, and a minimum 12,000-pound electric winch mounted securely at the front of the trailer.
