Uniform Purchase

Background

The City of Harrisonburg, Virginia is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit sealed proposals from vendors to provide uniforms for the City’s Public Works Department. The City, an independent city in the central Shenandoah Valley, serves a population of approximately 56,000 and provides various services including trash collection and maintenance of city infrastructure. The goal of this contract is to supply quality embroidered clothing for approximately 100 employees, emphasizing that the City is not interested in uniform rental services.

Work Details

The contractor will provide new quality embroidered clothing for approximately 100 Public Works employees. The clothing includes: - t-shirts - polo shirts - button-down shirts - Henley shirts - sweatshirts - light jackets - three-season jackets - khakis - jeans - pants The City requires that all apparel be new and unused current models free from defects. Each employee will have a stipend of $400 for field operations crews and $200 for administration staff to purchase uniforms. Orders must be shipped to a central location organized by employee name. The contractor must also provide embroidery services for the City logo at no additional cost.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on July 01, 2026, with an initial term of three years and options for two additional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance

The uniforms will be delivered to the City of Harrisonburg Public Works Department located at 320 East Mosby Road, Harrisonburg, Virginia 22801.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must not be currently debarred or suspended by any agency or locality in Virginia. They are required to submit a proposal through the eVA platform and must comply with insurance requirements as specified in Attachment G. Additionally, bidders should provide a list of any items on back order within 48 hours of order placement.
