Background

Bartow County and the City of Cartersville are seeking proposals from qualified consultants to conduct a Corridor Study for Center Road. The study aims to evaluate existing conditions, assess traffic congestion, safety concerns, operational performance, and projected growth impacts to develop feasible improvement alternatives. Work Details

The selected consultant will provide professional services that include: 1. Project Administration and Kickoff: Conduct a kickoff meeting, review available documents, and discuss project expectations. 2. Corridor Overview and Existing Conditions: Analyze existing conditions based on traffic study data, evaluate roadway characteristics, traffic patterns, pedestrian and bicycle accessibility, and identify concerns within the corridor. 3. Growth Analysis: Examine cumulative effects of residential development on corridor capacity, estimate future traffic based on potential developments, and identify areas needing infrastructural improvements. 4. Future Conditions Modeling: Evaluate corridor performance under future development scenarios and identify operational deficiencies. 5. Conceptual Framework: Develop conceptual roadway configurations and intersection layouts to accommodate projected impacts, including multimodal improvements where necessary.

Period of Performance

The completed study is due no later than February 22, 2027.

Place of Performance

The study will be conducted along Center Road from U.S. Highway 41/SR 3 eastward to Spur 20 in Bartow County.

Bidder Requirements

Consultants must be prequalified by the Georgia Department of Transportation in various area classes related to transportation planning and engineering design services. Additionally, firms must demonstrate compliance with DBE participation goals set at 8% for federally funded projects.
