Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically the Des Moines, IA VA Health Care System, is seeking to procure additional Ez Way smart stand with scale/S500PS1-03 floor-based patient lifts and charger assemblies. This requirement arises as the current Ez Way lifts are reaching the end of their operational life. The goal of this procurement is to ensure continued effective patient care throughout the facility. Work Details The contract requires the provision of Sit-to-Stand Patient Lifts with Scales that meet the following salient characteristics: - Must hold at least 500 pounds. - Must be motorized. - Include a scale that functions up to its full capacity. - Include a charger and two batteries for easy battery replacement. - Fit through a 39” door at its narrowest setting. - Have an adjustable and removable foot plate. - Adjustable shin pad vertically and horizontally. - Adjustable legs that can be widened and narrowed. - A bag attached to hold slings. - Three control methods: thumb switches, front panel switches, and hand control. - Automatic shut off after 20 minutes of non-use. - Scale must not require separate batteries from the lift. - Manual lowering option in case of dead battery. - Battery change must not require tools. - Warranty: 10 years on frame, 36 months on components, and 12 months on battery.
