Spillway Tower Improvements

Background

Gloucester County is seeking bids from qualified contractors to perform improvements and upgrades at the Beaverdam Creek Reservoir spillway tower and associated water treatment facilities. The County operates two drinking water treatment plants near the reservoir, aiming to enhance control and monitoring of water flows.

Work Details

The project includes: - Connecting power and controls from the existing Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant through new conduits and handholes to a new chloride meter/monitoring facility at Outfall 001. - Replacing a sump pump facility and electrical transformer (480V to 120V) at an abandoned sump pump facility. - Installing a new flow meter system inside the reservoir spillway outfall pipe. - Installing a new chloride meter system at the RO concentrate discharge Outfall 001. - Replacing a gate valve with new electric and manual controllers on the reservoir spillway. - Rehabilitating an existing sluice gate on the exterior of the spillway tower. - Installing a new sluice gate on the interior of the spillway tower. - Installing new cleanouts along the toe drain of the Beaverdam Creek Reservoir Dam. - Inspecting the toe drain. Long conduit runs are anticipated to be installed by horizontal drilling.
