Cleaning Services for Carrboro Century Center

Background

The Carrboro Century Center is a public building encompassing approximately 23,000 sq. ft. across two stories, housing various municipal departments including the Police Department and Public Works offices. The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive cleaning services for the facility, which includes meeting rooms, kitchens, locker rooms, bathrooms, and Century Hall. The contract aims to ensure a clean and safe environment for public use.

Work Details

The contractor must provide all cleaning services as outlined in Attachment 2, which includes daily, weekly, and monthly tasks across various areas of the facility such as kitchens, offices, bathrooms, and common areas. Key responsibilities include: - Vacuuming carpets - Dust mopping hard floors - Damp mopping surfaces with approved chemicals - Cleaning restrooms thoroughly including disinfecting fixtures and replenishing supplies - Maintaining cleanliness in entryways and hallways. Additionally, optional services listed in Attachment 3 may be awarded separately for floor refinishing and carpet cleaning. Specific tasks include: - Vacuuming carpets daily - Sweeping and damp mopping hard floors - Cleaning and disinfecting all restroom fixtures - Emptying waste receptacles - Performing biweekly inspections - Reporting any hazardous conditions.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2029 (3 years).

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must meet specific insurance requirements including $1 million in combined liability coverage and compliance with NC Workers’ Compensation laws. Contractors are required to provide two client references from similar work completed in the last five years. All personnel must adhere to criminal justice facility guidelines which include fingerprinting and background checks by the NC SBI for certain workers.
