Janitorial Service (LEC)

Background

The City of Albany is seeking bids for Janitorial and Custodial Services at the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) located at 201 W. Oglethorpe Blvd, Albany, Georgia. The contract aims to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the facility in accordance with specified requirements. The contract will be for one year with options to renew for three additional one-year terms as per Georgia law.

Work Details

The contractor will provide all necessary labor, materials, cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment to fulfill the janitorial services as outlined in the bid documents. Specific tasks include: - Daily cleaning of general office areas including dusting surfaces, vacuuming carpets, and mopping floors. - Weekly tasks such as cleaning break rooms and buffing hard floors. - Semi-annual deep cleaning of carpets and hard floors. - Restroom maintenance including sanitizing toilets and sinks, emptying trash containers, and ensuring dispensers are filled. - Cleaning of entrance glass doors and windows. Special instructions include providing all cleaning supplies, maintaining a drug-free workplace, and notifying staff when repairs are needed.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed and is expected to be completed within the specified contract time frame. The initial term is one year with options for three additional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at the Law Enforcement Center located at 201 W. Oglethorpe Blvd, Albany, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a certified check or bid bond equal to 5% of the bid amount as a guarantee for contract execution. They must also maintain insurance coverage as specified, including liability insurance with limits of $1 million per occurrence. Bidders must comply with local licensing requirements and provide references for similar work performed in the past six months.
