Tennis Court Restoration Project

Background

The Griffin-Spalding County School System is seeking proposals for the restoration of tennis courts at Griffin High School and Spalding High School. The goal of this project is to restore the courts to a like-new condition suitable for Georgia High School Association (GHSA) tournaments. The agency aims to ensure that the facilities meet the necessary standards for safety and usability, while also enhancing the overall athletic experience for students.

Work Details

The project involves comprehensive restoration work on a total of ten tennis courts across two locations: four courts at Griffin High School and six courts at Spalding High School. Specific tasks include: 1) Removal of existing surfacing and markings; 2) Repairing underlying asphalt as necessary; 3) Applying a new asphalt tennis court surface color coating system, specifically Laykold Colorflex or an equivalent; 4) Comprehensive crack repair and sealing; 5) Installation of new net posts (Douglas Sidewinder #63001) and tournament nets (Douglas TN-30DM #30030); 6) Reuse and refurbishment of existing fencing where applicable; 7) Compliance with standards set by ASBA, USTA, ITF, NFHS, GHSA, NAPA, and ASTM. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary for completion.

Period of Performance

The anticipated project start date is July 27, 2026, with a completion deadline of November 20, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at Griffin High School located at 1617 W. Poplar Street, Griffin, GA 30224 and Spalding High School located at 433 Wilson Road Griffin, Georgia 30224.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have a minimum of five years of experience in tennis court construction or restoration and must provide evidence of having completed at least seven similar projects. They are required to submit a list of references along with their proposal package. Additionally, contractors must provide proof of insurance coverage including liability and workers' compensation as specified in the solicitation documents. Compliance with the Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act is mandatory.
