Background

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is issuing a contract for accessibility improvements at Lacey-Keosauqua State Park located in Van Buren County, Iowa. Work Details

The project includes the following tasks: HMA saw cut, gravel and dirt excavations, granular subbase placement, rock placement, approximately 450 square yards of 6-inch PCC paving, installation of 4 and 6-inch tile lines, stump grubbing/removals, installation of ADA signage, removable bollards, modifications to ADA compliant concrete/stone doorway thresholds, and seeding and fertilizing. Specific items to be provided include: 1. 140 tons of special backfill. 2. 60 cubic yards of gravel removal. 3. 105 cubic yards of waste excavation. 4. 18 tons of granular shoulder. 5. 5 tons of macadam stone. 6. 448 square yards of standard/special PCC pavement (6-inch). 7. 32 linear feet of 6-inch PCC curb. 8. Mobilization (1 lump sum). 9. HMA saw cut (50 linear feet). 10. Installation of an 85 linear foot 4-inch tile line with sock. 11. Installation of a 120 linear foot 6-inch tile line with sock. 12. Supply and installation of ADA signage (1 lump sum). 13. Supply and installation of two removable bollards (4” x 36”). 14. Repair of two doorway thresholds. 15. Removal of five stumps. 16. Seeding and fertilizing of 0.3 acres.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to commence after a preconstruction conference and must be completed by August 15, 2026.

The work will be performed at Lacey-Keosauqua State Park, Van Buren County, Iowa.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with Iowa Contractor Registration requirements and provide proof of liability and property damage insurance. The contractor must also apply for and obtain necessary permits, including a NPDES Stormwater Discharge Permit for any land-disturbing activities. Additionally, the contractor is required to indemnify the State and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
