Background

The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is seeking competitive sealed bids from qualified Contractors for the South Rockbridge Road Pedestrian Improvement Projects. This initiative aims to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility as part of the Department of Transportation's efforts.

Work Details

The project encompasses 0.765 miles of various construction activities including: - Clearing - Grading - Curb & gutter installation - Sidewalk construction - Asphalt paving - Striping - Installation of new traffic signals and fibers for pedestrian and vehicle detection systems. Specific quantities include: - Earthwork: less than 20,000 cubic yards (CY) - Curb & Gutter: 10,527 linear feet (LF)

Concrete Structures

116 cubic yards (CY)

Storm Drain Pipe

3,379 tons (TN).

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to be performed from the award date until completion. Bids are due by June 4, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed on South Rockbridge Road in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must not be on the Gwinnett County ineligible source list. All bids must include a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check amounting to five percent (5%) of the total bid. Successful vendors are required to meet insurance requirements and submit a one hundred percent (100%) performance bond and a one hundred percent (100%) payment bond. The bonding company must be licensed in Georgia and have an A.M. Best rating of A-8 or higher.
