McQueen's Trail Restoration/Repair Project

Background

The project is located in unincorporated Chatham County on McQueen's Trail adjacent to US 80. McQueen's Trail is a pedestrian/bike trail constructed over an old railroad bed, surrounded by saltwater marsh. The trail has been impacted by hurricanes, and the goal of this contract is to restore and repair specific areas along the northern edge of the western route.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for restoring and repairing specific areas along the northern edge of the western route of McQueen's Trail. This includes: 1. Mobilization of equipment and commencement of project. 2. Replacement of crushed limerock in specified locations. 3. Installation of riprap as per plans. 4. Replacement of structural fill in designated areas. 5. Installation of additional tiebacks to existing timber bulkhead. 6. Installation of a new timber bulkhead retaining system. 7. Installation of temporary manatee signs as required.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed and will be subject to liquidated damages for delays beyond the agreed completion date.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed on McQueen's Trail in Chatham County, Georgia, specifically along the northern edge adjacent to US 80.
